Busan Milmyeon
부산밀면
Every time I go to Busan, I end up here missing the taste of Gaya Milmyeon.
Notes
- Milmyeon (Busan-style chilled wheat noodles) originated in Busan, but honestly, even within Busan there aren't that many really good milmyeon places. On the first bite you think, 'oh, this place might be good,' but as you keep eating and look back on it, you start noticing one shortcoming after another. And if that's the reality even in Busan, other regions can't recreate it at all.
- Among milmyeon places, this one is genuinely top-tier and very delicious. Top 10%.
- The noodles do have that fermented aroma, and the broth is top-notch too, but compared to Gaya Milmyeon, it falls a little short here and there. Since I personally like bold, intense flavors, plenty of people might actually prefer this one instead.
- The price is very cheap. Even cheaper than Gaya Milmyeon. When you factor in history and value for money, Busan Milmyeon might actually come out on top.
