The standard by which every good yangkkochi (lamb skewer) place should be judged. A go-to for kkwobarou (Korean-Chinese crispy sweet-and-sour pork). Unlimited seasoned dried tofu, and free water dumplings.

Notes

  • I consider this the standard of what a solidly good yangkkochi place on the streets of Seongsu-dong should be.
  • The onmyeon (hot noodle soup), honestly, wasn't that great. It might just not be to my taste.
  • You absolutely have to order the kkwobarou. They make it incredibly well. (Honestly, there's no bad kkwobarou place in this neighborhood, but this one still feels at least a notch above the rest.)
  • Unlike other places, you get unlimited refills of dried tofu tossed in mala sauce. Honestly, I personally love this so much I'd want to learn how to make it myself.
  • The yangkkochi itself is also solidly, reliably delicious!
  • As you eat, they bring out water dumplings on the house. Overall, not only is the food good, but the place really gives off a generous, warm-hearted feel.
  • Someone who'd lived in the area for a long time recommended it to me, and it's actually the very first place I ever tried yangkkochi in my life. Thanks to that, my standards have been set way too high ever since.
  • Heads up: they're regularly closed every Tuesday!
