A place for authentic Sichuan mapo tofu, a lot of the local Chinese community eats here too
Notes
- A place where you can taste truly authentic Sichuan-style tofu
- Tofu stir-fried with an even more intense version of that numbing mala tang (Sichuan numbing-spicy soup) broth flavor. The way it pops spicily on your tongue and makes your lips tremble without you even noticing is actually enjoyable.
- If you like mala tang, you'll probably like this!
- I think this might be the closest you can get to authentic Sichuan mapo tofu in Korea. A lot of the local Chinese community comes here, so you'll hear a lot of Chinese being spoken.
- Personally, I thought the mapo tofu was even better than the meat dishes. The portion is bigger than expected, so it's good for two people. For two, one mapo tofu plus two bowls of plain rice (1,000 won each) is just the right amount! A great place to go if you want to experience real mapo tofu.
- Of course, the meat dishes are good too!
- The huiguorou (twice-cooked stir-fried pork belly) is also really good. But in terms of value for the portion size, the mapo tofu wins!
